Dr. Hendrickson has been trained and certified by The Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. He has been administering Sedation Dentistry since 1998.

Sedation dentistry allows you to be put into a very deep state of relaxation by oral medication (pills). Most patients sleep through their dental procedures and remember little or nothing, yet can still speak and respond to our requests. Sedation dentistry is very safe, very effective and has existed for decades.

Sedation Dentistry puts you into a very deep state of relaxation, but you are still conscious. It is administered by oral medication (pills). The most common drug prescribed is Halcion, a relative of the well known drug Valium. Halcion has deeper relaxation abilities.
Patients choosing to use sedation dentistry will need to have a companion bring them to and from our office. Usually, a sedative is prescribed for the evening before your dental visit. Additional oral medications are provided at the dental office. Your experienced sedation team will monitor you throughout your entire visit. You are very relaxed, but do not remember any of the sights, smells or sounds of your visit. Your companion will take you home and stay with you until you're completely recovered from your sedation medication. Most patients feel no discomfort or residual effects from the dental visit and you'll be thrilled with your new smile!
